Battle recap

Warm-up game before the tournament in the zone. Scenario: Domination. I was over-deployed (I had more drops), but luckily it didn't matter much, I won the roll-off to go first. The dragon stood in for the Frostheart Phoenix. I hope the model arrives before the tournament. I had Battle Magic and rolled: - Hammerhand, - the pushy one (a push spell), - Ward 5+, - Pillar of Fire Hesus had 3x missile

Turn 1

Battle plan: Avoid the Bloodcrushers, and when I do want to get stuck in, preferably from the flank or with everything at once. Get into combat as fast as possible so the flamers and missiles have nothing to shoot at. I went first: The Ellyrian Reavers failed the charge on the Furies, the center moved forward, the Phoenix got an extra move and positioned itself so it could hit the Bloodcrushers from the rear if they approach. In his turn Hesus rolled a 6 for the ward, so the whole army has a 4+ ward. He charged the Furies into the Phoenix's flank. He didn't travel 3", so he didn't get the extra attack. The Phoenix struck first and in its might killed two Furies, he did nothing to me, so it's a draw and we stay locked. Bloodcrushers and Furies moved forward. With spells and magic he put 3 wounds on my general, but for the second battle in a row the dear fellows decided they'd take the saves and just brushed themselves off.

Turn 2

In my turn Pillar of Fire put a wound on the Bloodcrushers and two wounds on my chariot lol. The Ellyrian Reavers charged the Furies, by my count they should win this combat, but I killed one and they hit back and killed 3 of mine. I passed the break test and fell back. The light chariot charged in to help the Phoenix against the Furies and wiped them out to a man. The chariot held back from pursuing, which blocked any movement for the Phoenix, so it just turned towards the center. In the center the Dragon Princes showed how to smack down Furies, plus Hesus rolled badly for the break test and they evaporated in the turn, and with the overrun I ran into the Bloodcrushers. The general charged into the Bloodcrushers from the side. At the start I was losing this combat by -1 (close order and standard, and I had the flank and impact hits). Hesus issued a challenge, I dealt a wound, he did too. The Dragon Princes killed the Bloodcrusher they were touching and split off from the combat. Hesus had nowhere to give ground, so we stay locked. Magic does nothing. In his turn Hesus finishes off the Ellyrian Reavers with Furies. With spells and shooting he kills 3 Dragon Princes. He puts another wound on the light chariot. Unfortunately the Herald of Khorne showed the elf general how to fight, dealing him two wounds while passing 3 saves himself, and my eyes were already shining :). He fails the break test, I flee. With the overrun he catches the light chariot.

Turn 3

I rally the general. I charge the Silver Helms into the Bloodcrushers' flank and again I think, it's fine. He'll deal max two wounds to the guy on the chariot, the Silver Helms will show what they can do and it'll be good. The Silver Helms dealt 1 wound, the chariot dropped. I passed the break test and fell back. I didn't want to charge with the Phoenix from the front, because I have 4 attacks myself, and at the start I'd take 8 impact hits at Strength 6 on the Phoenix before I'd even done anything, and then 3 attacks from each Bloodcrusher from below and two from above, whereas this way there were no impact hits and the rest hit with 1 attack each. And in Hesus's turn the Bloodcrushers showed what they can do, killing 7 Silver Helms in one turn of combat. The Dragon Princes took the opportunity that the mage was standing next to the Flamers unit and declared a charge. He decided to flee as the god commanded, but something went wrong along the way and on the dice for the flee (some daemons can Flee on a charge reaction, but then they take the test as if they'd lost the break) he rolled 11, so he killed himself. The Dragon Princes, emboldened, passed the redirect and charged the Flamers, who now had no reaction. I dealt three wounds, break test roll 1,1 so all the wounds dealt were regenerated by the daemons :), what a prank. The second Flamers unit puts more wounds on the chariot.

Turn 4

With the thought that I have to be in combat. The Phoenix and the general charge the Bloodcrushers, this time showing them how to fight and killing two, and in the next round they finished off the unit. The chariot runs as far from the Flamers as possible. The mage hid behind a hill The Furies charged the Dragon Princes from behind, helping the Flamers. The Dragon Princes brushed themselves off again and switched on god mode, finishing off the Flamers without losing a wound.

Turn 5

The Furies finally finish off the Dragon Princes. The Phoenix takes two wounds. The rest hide and lurk in various quarters. The Flamers had the shooting roll of their lives, max shots (12) and 11 hit. In the last turn the Furies positioned themselves so as to be in three quarters. I had left: - general - mage - Phoenix And the daemons: - Furies - Flamers In the end I scored 175 for the scenario, and Hesus 200 pts. It ended 12-8 for me.
