BattleReports is a web app for writing and sharing tabletop battle reports—match metadata, turn-by-turn narrative, and photos—in one structured place.

You can keep a report private while you work on it, or publish it so anyone can read it from the public reports list.

No. Public reports and the public filters are available without signing in.

You need an account only to create, edit, or delete your own reports and to use My Reports.

Sign in with your email and password on the login page.

After logging in, you can create, edit, and manage your own reports.

Use "Forgot password" on the login page. If your email exists in BattleReports, you will receive reset instructions.

No. Email verification is not required in the current version.

Yes. From your profile you can permanently delete your account. You must confirm your current password first.

This action is permanent and removes your account and related data.

No. There are no drafts: saving always updates the single live report record.

You can edit a report as many times as you want; each successful save updates the report’s last updated timestamp.

The title is auto-filled from your armies, using the pattern "Player army - Opponent army". The same rule applies on create and if you clear the title later.

Each turn can have a title. If you leave it empty, it gets an automatic title based on turn number (for example: "Round 1").

Victory points are the exact numeric score. "Your outcome" is a simple label for your side: win, draw, or loss.

You can set it manually or leave it to match the score rules.

Yes. Only the author can delete their report. Deletion is permanent and removes dependent turns and images.

Visibility is controlled by a single flag on the report.

Public reports appear on the public reports list and can be opened by anyone with the link. Private reports are visible only to you when signed in.

Yes. The author can edit a public report at any time. There is no version history: readers see the latest content, and the public detail view shows when the report was last updated.

Anonymous visitors receive access denied. Signed-in users who are not the author also cannot open someone else’s private report.

When you pick a game system, the form suggests a default number of turns from that system’s configuration. You can change the count when creating the report or later in the editor.

The editor warns you because lowering the turn count deletes descriptions and photos attached to turns that are removed.

Always confirm you understand that data loss before applying the change.

Each game system defines a maximum number of images per turn. The UI prevents you from exceeding that limit; the API rejects saves that exceed it.

Yes. All images in one report must stay within a total upload limit. The current limit is 25 MB per report.

If you exceed it, the report cannot be saved until the total size is reduced.

Open the public reports page. You can use filters to quickly find reports by system, armies, tournament, and more.

Public filters are designed for browsing everyone’s reports.

My Reports filters are designed for managing your own reports, so they use labels focused on your side and your opponent.

No. Armies come from a closed dictionary managed in administration. Both armies on a report must belong to the selected game system.

Adding a tournament is optional.

You can select an existing tournament from the list. Users cannot create tournaments in the app.

Reports distinguish casual games and tournament games. Pick the type that matches your match when filling out the form.

Share the public report link from the report details page.

Only public reports are visible to everyone.
